Ingrown hairs occur when a hair grows back into the skin.
This may be because the pore is blocked with oil or debris, or because the hair is coarse or curly. An ingrown hair looks like raised, red, itchy spots on the skin, sometimes you can see a hair trapped under the skin.

Infected ingrown hairs can be painful and can really effect someone’s self confidence.

Ingrown hairs commonly occur in areas you shave, such as:
- Face and neck
- Legs
- Armpits
- Chest
- Back
- Bikini
Plucking, waxing and threading hair can also lead to ingrown hairs as the follicle is left exposed and fills with oils and debris which blocks the passage of the new hair.
The constant cycle of digging and squeezing the skin repeatedly causes scarring, pigmentation and pitted appearance to the skin.
The best way to prevent ingrown hairs is to stop shaving, plucking or waxing but for some people unwanted hair growth has serious effects on their quality of life.
I offer many Facial treatments and products that can be used to reduce the symptoms but I always quote “prevention is better than cure!”
I’m so excited to be able to offer my clients a permanent solution, stopping unwanted hair growth in its tracks!

Intense Pulsed Light – IPL and laser treatments are a permanent solution for unwanted hair. The powerful targeted light heats the melanin within the hair shaft which damages the delicate hair follicle stopping it from producing new hair.
IPL can also be used to reduce Acne by targeting over active sebaceous glands, scarring caused by ingrown hairs, pigmentation caused by sun damage and can also smooth uneven texture and tone of the skin.
I’ve spent several years researching different laser and IPL systems and I’m so excited to finally have to opportunity to bring Lynton Laser to my clinic, designed and built in Britain Lynton produce medical grade IPL and laser machines, loved by Dermatologists worldwide and the preferred supplier to the NHS – Only the very best for my clients!
This treatment really will change lives!
