When Regulation Loses Its Ethics:

As a sepsis survivor, bilateral amputee, and beauty professional of over thirty years, I am questioning a serious contradiction in UK regulation. While trained beauty therapists and medics must hold Ofqual-regulated qualifications, unqualified individuals can complete short accredited courses and offer invasive scar treatments under the label of “inkless tattooing.”
This posts explores why good intentions are not a substitute for qualification, how regulatory loopholes place vulnerable patients at risk, and why ethical practice means knowing the limits of our expertise and recommending others rather than diluting it.
