The ABCDEs of Mole Awareness
If your mole matches any of these characteristics, don’t delay – let’s take a closer look together.
Prices for Mole Screening start at £60 for an individual mole, £90 for half body screen which is ideal for checking areas of the body that can’t easily be seen such as the back and scalp. Full Body screen is £160.
All screening includes, one mole or lesion of concern Dermatologist report, supporting letter and photographs to fast track any GP referrals for Dermatology removals and pathology testing. Any additional mole or lesions of concern requiring a full Dermatologist report will be charged an additional £15 each.
A Single Mole Check is £60 which includes Photographic imaging and consultant dermatologist report if required.
No. If you have private health cover you will be able to email my assessment and photographs to support your GP request for a referral.
Yes. You do not need a GP referral to use MySkinDoctor.
Usually around 25% of patients who have a Single Mole Check will need a referral to see a Dermatologist for diagnosis, clinical review and removal for biopsy.
You can contact your GP who often accept the Dermatoscoe images and will be happy to refer you to an NHS Dermatologist, the NHS often use the MySkinDoctor service, however for a quicker response you can pay MySkinDoctor privately.
Yes. These can of course be removed. I remove Benign Skin Blemishes using advanced Electrolysis which dehydrates and coagulates the lesion or Plasma which cauterises (burns) the skin lesion. Both methods completely remove the lesions, although occasionally additional treatments may be needed to remove any skin that remains.
For insurance purposes and reassurance, a consultation and clinical review is performed before every blemish removal. I would assess and discuss the removal to ensure that you are aware of all risks and aftercare before undergoing the procedure. If a blemish is deemed high risk, or shows any signs of risk removal will be denied until a GP or Dermatologist has authorised non medic removal.
