FAQs

Does advanced electrolysis blemish removal hurt?
Most clients experience only mild discomfort, often described as a quick, warm prickling or stinging sensation but tolerance does vary from person to person. The treatment is very fast, and any discomfort stops as soon as the specific targeted treatment is removed.
We use a highly precise, sterile micro-probe (similar in size to an eyelash) to deliver a controlled amount of electrical current or heat directly to the blemish. This energy either cauterises the blood supply (for vascular issues like spider nevus) or safely dries out the tissue (for skin tags and keratosis), causing the blemish to naturally shrink and flake away.
Yes, a thorough consultation is essential to assess your skin, correctly identify the blemish, and ensure advanced electrolysis is the safest approach for you. In many cases, depending on the blemish, we can proceed with the treatment during the exact same appointment.
Advanced electrolysis is incredibly precise, meaning we only treat the blemish itself while leaving the surrounding healthy skin untouched. This significantly minimizes the risk of scarring compared to traditional removal methods. As long as you follow our strict aftercare advice—especially avoiding picking at the area—the skin usually heals beautifully.
There is minimal downtime, allowing you to go about your normal day. Immediately following the treatment, the area may be slightly red, warm, or mildly swollen. Within a few days, a small, protective crust or scab will form over the treated area as it heals.
Once a specific blemish is successfully removed, it typically does not return to that exact spot. However, if your skin is prone to developing conditions like skin tags, milia, or seborrheic keratosis, new ones may form in the future due to aging, genetics, or friction.
Healing times depend on the size of the blemish and your individual skin. Generally, the small protective crust will fall off naturally within 7 to 14 days. Full tissue healing and for the skin colour to completely normalize can take a few weeks.
We strongly advise keeping the treated area clean and dry for at least 24 to 48 hours. To prevent infection and ensure proper healing, you should avoid applying makeup, rich moisturisers, or active skincare ingredients (like retinoids or acids) directly onto the treated spot. We will provide you with a comprehensive aftercare guide during your visit.
Your safety is our absolute priority. While most moles are harmless, they can occasionally be an indicator of skin cancer. We require written consent from your GP or a qualified dermatologist to confirm that the mole is completely benign (non-cancerous) before we perform any cosmetic removal.
