Scalp Micropigmentation Removal Treatment in Guildford, Woking, Weybridge and surrounding areas of Cobham, Leatherhead and Surrey

Scalp Micropigmentation and Scar Camouflage both involve pigment being implanted into the skin using a tiny dotting technique call pointillism. Building up the tiny dots to increase the density and blending it away to create a natural fade makes this technique a very popular option for people looking to camouflage hair loss and scarring.

Over time I have come to see that as ink ages and cools over time, the pigment can migrate or turn blue. As such, I no longer offer scalp micropigmentation but instead I offer scalp micropigmentation removal.

FAQs

How is scalp micropigmentation used for hair densification?
Scalp Micropigmentation can camouflage thinning hair by creating a shadow on the scalp creating the look of density to the hair. Perfect for those with hair loss in smaller areas like the crown or hairline, and for those with longer hair who wear it in a parting.
Full Scalp Micropigmentation is for those who have lost a large amount of hair. This works best when the remaining hair is kept very short, ideally shaving the scalp 2-3 times per week or wet shaving. The tiny Micropigmentation dots implanted then blend perfectly with the natural hair follicles making it almost impossible to differentiate between them. This is ideal for those living with Alopecia.
Scar Camouflage is increasing in popularity as more and more people are having hair transplant procedures. Hair Transplant also known as FUE (Folicular Unit Extraction) and FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) involve removing a large section of scalp from the back of the hair and implanting plug like sections to the top and front of the scalp with the hope that it will survive the procedure and begin to grow again. There are two techniques one removes a single large section of skin, leaving a large thin section of scar tissue at the back of the scalp, the other technique takes smaller sections of hair across the back leaving lots of patches of scar tissue that looks a lot like Alopecia patches. If the hair is kept longer and styled securely the scaring is easily covered but as soon as the hair is cut into a shorter style or the wind blows it the obvious unsightly scars are exposed. Micropigmentation will camouflage scars by darkening the flesh tone to blend with the hair tone.
Scalp micropigmentation is another form of tattooing and so either Xtract or laser tattoo removal could be used to remove your scalp micropigmentation.
No. Instead of performing scalp micropigmentation, we recommend microneedling and mesotherapy for hair loss. Read more about scalp microneedling here.
We have found that, over time, the pigment is likely to bleed or fade. Due to the nature of the tattoo, it is very hard to refresh the pigment whilst maintaining distinct spots of colour rather than one bigger block of colour. As such we now recommend microneedling and mesotherapy for hair loss.
